It was an incredible invasion of privacy and as a result I want more privacy than ever. Trust is at a premium and I’m feeling quiet, dark, and lucky.
Things are just fucking things. Phones update automatically, and even returned in a few days if you paid for insurance and can afford a deductible. But people, my people, are everything, and I realize how close my simple story of theft could have been something horrific and catastrophic. Perspective and gratitude is what I take from that fucking idiot who took from me. So I guess, wherever you are, thank you for this lesson. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you make better decisions in your life.
To everyone else, if I may say; don’t be a damn fool living your life looking down on your phone. You’re missing everything. Just put it away, live your life, in real life. Not everything requires a photo, you can go without updates and news and bullshit. Keep your phone in your bag, or in your pocket, and just be alert and aware of your surroundings.
