One of my favorite tops in circulation is an epic sale find from The Row. A top that would normally be about $900 (!!) is in my closet for a steal at less than $60.
I'm really impressed by the quality of this The Row top because I've heard so much about the emphasis on material, fit, and tailoring before, but never experienced it IRL; the construction is immaculate — the exterior on this minimal boxy top is wool, but the lining is comfortable silk — and the delicate and loose straps are a lovely satin.
Of course, in order to get such a steal I had to buy the top 2-3 sizes too large, but knowing that boxy tops tend to flatter my hip ratio for my height (IE I have a pear shape, small top, big hips and butt) I knew I could take this to my tailor Sally at San Francisco tailors (she is the best) and she could reconstruct it to something more suited to my body.
Despite the wool exterior, I'm packing this to Turks and Caicos because it looks so damn dressed up on it's own, or super 90s cool with a t-shirt underneath.
Now if I could only get UPS to deliver the 8-10 swimsuit options I ordered last week I'd have more on my packing list than just this top.
