With Vetements behind the wheel at Balenciaga I'm not really missing Alexander Wang's aesthetic for the old fashion house. The standout shows Alexander Wang did was that marble one with and the runway with mirrors and hair bows, but that's really about it. That being said, I'm not really loving this casual Vetements-Balenciaga either. The oversized hoodies and cool street wear is one thing for Vetements, but I kind of want something more for Balenciaga. Something that Nicolas Ghesquiere always seemed to deliver on. I'm not fashion critic, but I do know that when the above look is my favorite from Balenciaga I know the house is not really itself. Too expected. This could be a look from Chloé or Stella McCartney for all I care, with the fresh-faced baby doll model and the denim. Balenciaga, come back!
