POV : Dior Couture

Welcome to my new little experiment. I've been blogging for a very long time. So long in fact, that loyal human beings that have been with me since 2007 have seen many different iterations.

Despite all the change, which to be honest is expected as I have been growing as a human person as well alongside my blog, I'd like to think that my passion and point of view on fashion has remained unchanged.

Despite the exclusivity of the industry, as a creative professional working hard for my paychecks, I still love fashion. I love the creativity and the personal expression of choosing what to wear every day.

I hope you enjoy these mini magazines that I create! My first one is on Dior Couture Fall 2016 — a show that is so interesting to me because the understudies at Dior got to take the spotlight and design a Couture collection while a full-time designer star takes the helm. They are more like underdogs because the reviews are pretty mixed about this minimalist take on Dior designs, for couture no less: a season that is meant to highlight a fashion house's differentiating point of view and create impeccable handmade clothing for incredibly wealthy clientele.

Last year I introduced a more streamlined and minimal approach to my blog. This process has helped me find a new and more strict edited approach; only posting when I have something worthy (and dare I say original) to share. In line with that I am excited to present my latest redesign, done pretty much on a whim this past holiday weekend as I was able to crystallize my thoughts on what the hell I wanted my site to be moving forward. My site has changed with my mood, my life, and my job, so it only makes sense as I start my new job as Senior Art Director at WIRED my site moves towards a more editorial approach as well.

Pressure. Underdogs. Drama. Design. Fashion. All these themes made for an interesting design challenge for me. Why publish multiple posts on the same subject when I could make a mini magazine?

I hope you enjoy.
