Brock Collection

In a sea of seemingly unwearable outfits from NYFW here comes Brock Collection with the pretty simplicity of actual wearable clothes. I've never been more uninspired and uninterested in following the fervor, unrealistic everything, and status-seeking nature of NYFW as this season. Maybe it's just me turning into a recluse, but the romance I used to associate with new collections each season is waning. I look to NYFW as a source of inspiration more than anything. Browsing the new collections online teaches me how to put together my clothes in a previously unexplored way way that feels new, and maybe sometimes inspires me to find a few new pieces to add to my closet. I'm just not interested in the wasteful ways of before where I used to hunt down the "it" thing buy it and wear it. For what? Status? The only fans I was getting with that behavior are my credit card companies, clapping their hands at my habits with "rewarding" me with more and more credit increases without me having to ask.

I will confess I miss Style.com immensely. The sad user interface on vogue.com is just not the same as a purely runway focused site —  and having to dodge a zillion stories about the Kardashian/Jenners just to get to the hi-res runway images is a real struggle, people.

Way to go Brock Collection. I loved the simplicity and the idea of wearing denim in the day time and looking this put-together.
