Mirror Bunny Brown Hair, Mirror Bunny Brown Makeup
It's been raining pretty much every other day around these parts, which makes motivating myself to get up and do my hair in anything but a low bun almost impossible. I've done it before — blow dry first, then apply Oribe Royal Blowout spray to help tame and smooth the wily hair, then some flat iron magic near the ends to seal in the sleek look — only step outside in the humid air and have it all go to frizz in about two frustrating minutes.
Sigh. I don't have a solution for this sadly, and if you asked me, I'd probably say I'm not even interested in one anymore because mornings when it's raining afford me an extra 20 minutes of snooze time. That's precious snooze time where I lay in bed not snoozing and browsing my phone and quietly saying to myself, "You're gonna do great!" like that rabbit staring into the mirror in that one meme.
This laziness kind of floats over to my makeup routine as well, since having easy pulled-back hair means my makeup should probably match in effort too. So I go for the simple solutions, mostly moisturizer (and by 'moisturizer' i mean the entire Aesop line of Parsley Seed stuff) and a light coverup under a generous sweep of Hourglass's sheer luminizer (it airbrushes the 'flaws,' people) with a touch of some iridescent bronzish-blush I get from the Body Shop. I put on some Nars bronze duo eyeshadow set and most importantly get my eyebrows in shape with Anastasia wax and powder — with a stolen eyebrow brush from Sephora of course.
Then? Then we're done. Then we go to work. We go outside and Mirror Bunny Mantra ourselves to BART, then off BART in SF, then to work.
Or whatever.
