No Presents, No Problem

I haven't done any sort of Christmas shopping this year and I'm not even worried or panicked about it like all the ads on TV want me to feel. I'm not a terrible person because I'm not getting anyone a gift this year because I've had a good run at trying to do it all; getting my family and some close friends the most extravagant and thoughtful this and spent mountains of money I didn't have to show how my wrapping skills are all that. Sure it made for nice Instagram content, but even saying that right now feels so shallow. Those were my priorities then, and the now version of me just wants to stay in my comfortable clothes I've had forever (stuff resembling what's in the photo above that I've had for 15+ years!) and be a lazy homebody with my family. It might make for boring social media compared to the curated extravaganzas I've scrolled past recently, and maybe even a boring blog post too, but at least this feels me.

FYI: This is not a holier-than-thou post, I just thought If I did have something to say right about now it wouldn't be to go out and get some last minute gifts, it would be to put your phone down, unplug that ol' computer for a bit, and go out and do something offline.
